Hitler won, Anne Frank lost.

I disagree that Hitler won and Anne Frank lost. I agree that Hitler won by taking over Germany and leading the Nazis to war, but he killed himself and then lost the war. Anne lost by being sent to a concentration camp and dying there. The outcome was that they both lost.

I think that the statement is false. How can someone win if they killed millions of people? Hitler became hated by most people and ended up killing himself which isn't winning. Anne was killed but her story touched a ton of people. She wanted to be a writer and she got to be one even if her story was published after she died.

I think that statement is false. Anne Frank was very happy in the concentration camps and always had a positive outlook. She was also very aware of what was going on and never felt very oppressed, which was Hitler's goal. He wanted the Jewish to feel like trash and he wanted to kill them all. Anne Frank was killed, but she died of disease, not his ways, and she never felt like trash.

I think that the statement is false. Although Anne Frank did end up getting caught in the end and sent to a concentration camp where she eventually died, she stayed positive in a bad situation. Hitler wanted all of the Jewish to be sad and melancholy and feel like they meant nothing, but Anne was just the opposite.

I think this is false. Anne won because she seemed to have good spirits through hiding. Hitler lost because he had no heart and killed over 6 million people. To me, having a heart and good spirits wins.

I think the statement is false. They both died and they were not happy when the outcomes ended. They both had a hard and difficult life.

I think this is an untrue statement, in that Hitler lost the war, and what he tried to do was never accomplished. Anne Frank died of typhus, not any Nazi made death.

I agree with the others, this statement is false. Hitler may have killed millions of people and Jews but Anne achieved fame by writing about her life. She told the world, in her writing, about what was happening during WWII. Millions of her books were sold and read. I think Anne Frank was the true "winner."
This statement depends on what you mean by winning. Hitler won in the way that he killed more people. Hitler won by being more powerful than Anne. Hitler won some things but Anne won people and thier admiration. Some will say Hitler did that, too.

I think that the comment can be both true and false depending on what point of view you take. I suppose that that is the point of this question though, but even so...

If you are looking at the question through a militaristic view, which would be: "Who lived longer?", Hitler would have won because, indirectly he killed Anne by having his minions kill her under his orders.

However, if you look at who is still known in history, going by the saying: "A man only truly dies when he is forgotten." In that sense, neither of them won, because it was a tie, leaving the statement as false.

I don't believe that Anne could have ever won, because she did nothing except write. But Hitler only won in one sense.

I believe that although Anne died, she didn't lose. She was able to win millions of people over with her story, something that Hitler never did. Also, she fought to the very end when Hitler gave up and commited suicide.

I disagree with this statement because, even though Anne Frank died in a Concentration Camp that Hitler put her in, I believe that only the Heroes can truly be victorious. By writing her account of the events that went on in Germany and Holland, it opened up many people's eyes, and made it so these awful times can be prevented in the future. Her legacy will always live on, (as well as Hitler's) but while Hitler casts down the memory of horror and despair, Anne Frank's account shows the goodness of hope and will make people have faith in future situations. By giving people hope, I believe that Anne Frank is the true winner.

I think that Anne Frank did actually lose in that she was actually tring to hide from the Germans and the faimly including herself failed in doing so. Also the fact that she died did not help either.
On the Hitler won part it really depends on what he won. Hitler wanted to kill Jewish people. He killed Jewish people. So in that respect he did win when he sent the franks to the consentration camp. But he still lost the war and killed himself instead of being held captive.

I believe that that this statement was not really true because there wasn't a battle between Anne and Hitler. Hitler lost the war and a group of nazis condemned Anne to death. In the end neither of them won, not that they fought at all to begin with.

Anonymous said...

I disagree with the statement because yes Adolf Hitler did succeed in killing 6 million jews, but he did not succeed in his long-term goal of creating an empire that will have world rule for 1000 years, which was what he wanted to do.
Also Anne Frank did not lose because she never thought of the concentration camps as a place where she would die. She said in her last journal entry that she would be able to handle the concentration camps because she was no longer a girl but a women.

I disagree with this statement because Anne won the fight while Hitler lost. She may have been captured and died soon after but she fought back by going into hiding. Hitler lost because the nazi goverment was demolished and he lost everything including his life.

FALSE!
Anne Frank is remembered as a hero to a lot of people and she gives people confidence and hope in times of trouble. Hitler would have NEVER done that. And, as I have noticed before, she did anything that she would have had to to live while Hitler had thousands of people to protect him.

I believe that this is a false statement. Although in the eyes of many people such as Neo-Nazis (hah I got my project subject in here! EXTRA POINTS PLEASE!! Just Kidding!)Hitler did win. But if you look at the hard core fact of the matter, he didn't win. Okay yes, he nearly took over Europe and was running a much every where, but in the end he lost his life like the so many people who's lives he took.
Also there is no way that Anne could have possibly lost, because even though she was in hiding for years and then eventually taken prisoner and sent to a concentration camp where she later died, she had her family. She also had hope on her side as well, and the belief that no matter what everyone was good at heart.

I believe that Hitler lost and Anne actually did win. Hitler took all of Europe killed 6 million people of the religion that he hated and was the most feared person of that time period. Yet Hitler never was happy with all the achievements he had in his life. Anne on the other hand had to go into a houses attic and had to stay the for 2 years without being able to do mostly anything for more than half the day. Although Anne through all of this time had to do absolutley nothing and then had to be sent to a cocentration camp she never complained and was always possitive. Also Anne's life dream was to become a famous writer and she accomplishd becoming that with her diary.
Hitler never finished his life goals but Anne finished her dream. Hitler lost and Anne won.

This statement can be interpreted either way. It can be true for Anne Franke did techinally lose by being found by the Nazis and then killed, and Hitler may have won by killing and completing at least one of his goals. But Hitler also could've lost because when he realized that Germany may fall then he killed himself, and how can u win when even if u have supporters you are hated greatly but only admired for slaughtering people who didnt derserve it? And Anne Franke did get caught but she won by carrying on her legacy through a journal whether she knew it or not. And she stalled her time of death, letting her live her life as long as she could, 2 and a half years longer! So Hitler may have won in some eyes because he murdered a race he thought was inferior. And Anne Franke may have lost cause she was found for doing something against the law and then later killed... it can go either way i guess

Apparently, it depends upon who you ask. I see it both ways.

1) Anne loses, Hitler wins

- Similar to what Kieran said earlier, Anne had tried to hide from the Green Police and failed. She had also wanted to be an actress in Hollywood, and she never got there. Hitler had tried to capture Jews and put them in Concentration camps, and he did. He also aimed to be a dictator, and he accomplished that as well.

But of course, there are two sides to every coin...

2) Hitler loses, Anne wins

- Hitler had wanted to eliminate the Jewish. While he put an end to the livesof very many Jews, he didn't kill ALL of them, obviously. He had also wanted to be a priest before the war, and he never did accomplish that. Anne had wanted to be a world renouned writer, and because of her diary, she became one. Anne had also wanted to stay out of the Concentration camps; she did for some time, longer than some did.

Short and sweet, it's all in the eyes of the beholder who wins and who loses.

I think this statement is false because Anne Frank had accomplished something good with writing a great diary. Hitler accomplished nothing but ruin people's lives. I think good always triumphs over evil.

I geuss that could be true. Anne did die in the end so she lost b and hitler killed 11 million total people so he won that part but Anne wrote in her diary and shoed what a bad man Hitler was and he committed suicide so she won on that part.I would have to say hitler won though because he got everything that he wanted to happen happen and nothing went annes way other than him dying and writing what the expieriance was like.

Anonymous said...

I think that this statement is false because hitler lost the war and committed suicide while anne was not killed by concentration camp methods and she actually became happier when she was taken to the camp.

Anonymous said...

I guess that I think that it is false. Since they did both die neither of them really won, but if anything, I'd say that technically Hitler was winning. I say that, because he accomplished more (even though when i say accomplished i mean he killed more than 6 million jews)than Anne did.

false. though anne died in the camps along with the 6 million others that Hitler killed Hitler was stopped, he is dead. He is one man though he had an army behind him, anne is a symbol of a religion that lives on today not in hiding but as equals in the modern world.

I'm sure that the statement is false. Anne Frank died in the end but she left behind much more than Hitler took with him when Anne died. Anne looses her life, Hitler gains a death, but Anne leaves behind wonderful writing, and a positive way to view living in an apartment with 7 other people for 2 years. Hitler never won in the end because he was mentally insane and probably not happy. After all he had to wake up each day knowing that because of him millions were dying. Inside, Anne was winning, because she was happy to be outdoors again when taken to the camp. I don't think there was ever a time when anne was in a foul mood. She turned everyting that seemed miserable into something funny and viewed it as positive instead of negative.

I disagree with the statement. No one that is associated with hatred and violence is a winner. Hitler was the source of all suffering during the Holocaust, and will never be remembered as victorious. Anne Frank had such a positive outlook on life that she became a legend. She will always be remembered as a hero.

Hitler was a dictator and a tyrannist. The simple fact that he accomplish much of what he had planned for Nazi Germany gives him the edge in this argument. Anne Frank has became a famous victim of the Holocaust, and part of what made Hitler so infamous. The following information should help us draw a conclusion.

~~Anne dies happily - she accepts her fate and lives (or dies) with it.
Anne +1 Hitler -1

~~Hitler kills Anne along with more than 12 million others - He attempts a mass "cleansing" of Nazi Germany.
Anne -1 Hitler +1

~~Hitler dies in vein: a major fall for Axis, A celebration for Allies.
No Conclusion

~~Hitler goes down in history - Just what he wanted to do.
Hitler +1

~~Anne's legacy has lived on forever. Her story has inspired many.
Anne +1

Final Tally: Anne 1; Hitler 1

I believe this tells us that there IS no clear winner to this battle between them.*

*Seriously, I didn't rig this to be a tie. I honestly didn't know where the score would go.

I definitely think that this statement is false. There was no real winner. Yes, Hitler did kill eleven million people, including Anne, and he did get what he wanted at first. But Anne also wrote a diary that has made an inspiring impact on the readers. In the end though, they both ended up dying. So I believe that there really was no true winner.

I would say false for Anne Frank losing to Hitler.
Hitler may have killed many people on his conquest to make a empire. Anne Frank was able to hide for 2 years before getting caught. Anne Frank was able to survive and was happy when she got caught according to the play. As well the play said she was happy to be out in the fresh air.

I would say that this is completely false. I feel that the only person out of the two that got anything out of this time, was Anne. She treasured all her time and belongings, and kept her priorities close to her heart. Hitler was in it for revenge, which is not a rewarding feeling. She had kept her love, creativity, and friendships while Hitler was all alone in his anger. She kept going to the end, and he made his end. Over all, Anne Frank is the true victor here.

Anonymous said...

I feel that the pen is mightier than the sword. She put the holocaust in a way that every single person in the world could understand, and she ended up with so many followers in the end. Though Hitler's forceful approach worked at first, it did not last. Truth and brute just don't compare.

Anonymous said...

Disagree.
Hitler got the power of the Germany, and dreamed of conquering the whole world, but he failed.
Anne Frank get caught and sent to the concentration camp, but she was happy.(Not that she was happy about that she is going to die)

Anonymous said...

I disagree with this statement because Anne was still happy and had a family to comfort her. Hitler was just trying to get rid of jews. He didnt really accomplish anything important.

Sorry that i posted so late but i was home sick with strep throat so thats why im posting now.

I think that this statement all depends on the point of veiw. If you are looking at in in our eyes the statement is false i beleive because Hitler killed many innocent people and Anne seemed happy to get out of the annex and her story was publish into a famouse book. If you were looking at it in Hitlers oint of veiw then the staement is true because he did what he wanted to do whitch was kill millions of people and anne lost because she died.

I believe that Hitler had won in that he had great power in the Nazi movment; and therefore Germany. He, however, had caused millions of deaths, and brought suffering and agony to many. Because of this, he had failed in making a positive contrabution to society. He had only worsened conditions. This, by a great means, overrides his success. He, therefore, lost in my opinion.
Anne, I believe, may not have been as well known as Adolf Hitler. Her legacy, however, is much more sugnificant. Regardless of the horrifying circumstances she has lived with, she had never lost a sense of hope.
